For
the last week or so we have been out doing a lot of village hopping. We
have been walking through rice paddies and across bamboo bridges
barefoot and on longer journeys cramming three on small motorcycles that
might as well be dirt bikes. We have slept in ant/cockroach/water-bug/lizard
infested rooms and beds. At times when you slept the whole floor
appeared to be moving, and you were praying those things crawling down
your back were beads of sweat... we slept like this for a couple of
nights then we found 100 deet! AMAZING STUFF! doesn't cure everything
but it took care of a lot of it. The water they offer us in the villages
looks like tea it is so dirty, and we had the spiciest food of our
lives there. Although all these things contributed to making the journey
a blast, the fact that we got to share the good news of Jesus with all
the village people we meet made it incredible! Can't wait to see what
God has planned next when our fathers get here. Rumor has it we are
taking a sea plane at some point. For right now we are grateful to
have a day of rest!
